Physicists are more likely than other technical professionals to end up in top management and policy roles because physics emphasizes quantitative, analytical, and “big picture” thinking. Two of the top science-related jobs in the US government are now held by physicists: Energy Secretary and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Physics is a difficult subject.
